Taysde Fife Lothian/borders Aberdeenshire Highlands Stirlingshire

Moncreiffe Hill

Just outside bridge of earn on the outskirts of perth - this wooded area offers some pleasant wide trails and fantastic views of Perth from the summit of the hill

Distance - 5-6 miles

Difficulty - one or two tricky sections (walkable) but mostly wide forest tracks. Quite hilly

Car park

Take the b road signposted Rhynd just before you enter bridge of Earn from Perth on the A912. Go under the M90 and after about half a mile a signpost will take you up a track to Moncrieffe Hill car park. Park near the gates

The routeView from the top of Moncrieffe Hill

After the gate carry on up the hill on your bike - this goes on for about half a mile- until you reach a small plateau where there is a trail going off to your right - (this is your return route) carry straight on, and keep0 going ignoring other turns until the track narrows to a path (the m90 motorway is on your left) and then turns right and climbs steeply - continue on this as it widens again to a track and keep straight on - take the second right turn (there is a way marker which is difficult to spot) climb up the hill until you see a viewpoint with a bench on your right. shortly after this take a left turn. You can either take a detour and go to the summit at this point ( only a few minutes cycle and bike able - but narrow) or carry straight on.

Descend taking a left turn onto the main track and carry this as it undulates and then descends steeply as it twists and turns back to the outward trail - from here take a left and descend to the car
