Taysde Fife Lothian/borders Aberdeenshire Highlands Stirlingshire

Drumtochty Circuit (Bervie loop forest trail)

Distance - 17 miles

Terrain - wide land rover/fire track through a remote forest

Difficulty - technically not difficult, but it is a very remote and arduous route

Car Park - see map

Route description

starting at the car park follow the tarred road that ascends steeply from the car park - this is way marked. Follow the trail for 5 miles before taking the left fork and embarking on a 7 mile circle that initially descends rapidly into the valley and then down the valley

What goes down, must come up, and a way marker will signpost you to take a right turn (straight on leads you to trails in Fetteresso Forest) which climbs arduously back to the trail you were on on the outward bound trail
